I applaud you for trying to make your own pumpkin puree! I've never even tried. These brownies sound to-die-for!

We would love to feature them on our blog and possibly on the Demy- the first and only digital recipe reader! If interested email me at haleyglasco@gmail.com

Oh YUM!!! Those look delicious Julie and just perfect for Fall! Your post made me laugh...I think we should stick with canned puree and leave the pumpkins whole and just set them on the front porch for the season!

Hi Julie! I just got the Foster's Market cookbook on your recommendation, and you were right! It's great! I've made something from it already and posted it to my blog. I've mentioned you and your great blog in the post. Thanks for the rec!

I agree, homemade pumpkin puree...not worth the trouble. I don't like buying all canned and pre-made products, but pumpkin puree is a godly creation. Although I am guilty of something a little worse. Today I bought a can of oraganic sweet potato puree. It's so much easier than mashing your own sweet potatoes (especially when you don't have an electric beater) and they are absolutely delicious and have no added ingredients!

    These look great!

About trying make homemade pumpkin puree...I have a really strong I-will-do-this-100-percent-from-scratch streak in me, too. That said, I couldn't agree with you more about the canned pumpkin. I almost cut myself in half with my giant cleaver whenever I try to dispatch a real pumpkin. Canned pumpkin really is so good--and so convenient.

I'll definitely be trying these. Thanks!

I tried the pumpkin puree thing last year. I think it may be one of those things that only works on paper!
