    Hi Theresa!

Thank you for your email!  I actually ordered my gel paste coloring from the site www.sugarcraft.com . It was called Super Red, and it was made by CK Products.  You should be able to find it on the site under the Colorings section.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Michelle!

I used a royal icing for the cookies.  If you let it dry for several hours (or preferably overnight), it become very hard and will not smudge when placed in bags.  You can find a recipe here (I use the version with egg whites):

How adorable! My son would have had a cow over that cake. You are so talented.

Oh my word Julie - you are a GENIUS! You belong at Ace of Cakes! I'm sure that little boy was beside himself - how could he not be? Beautiful work!

Looks really good...and I'm loving the white chocolate buttercream!

You did such a wonderful job on that cake and those cookies. I need to start right now to hone my skills for the next two years if I'm to come close to something as nice for my little girl when she turns 3!

haha, I have to tell you all 3 of my kids are here, and they all LOVE this cake! Great job on that!

You need to start charging for your creations. This is phenomenal. Oh my gosh.

My mom tried to do co-b-days for us and I always cared. I have a real problem with being ignored on my birthday!

    Pat

You did a GREAT job on the cake, Julie!

    Kerstin

I could tell the fire hat cookie, but I'm trying to figure out who Addison is. Is she a guest of the party? You probably said and I just missed it. Everything is so cute! I can't wait until my little boy wants things like that and I get to experiment (he's only 1 now).

Okay, Julie, my birthday is April 30. I don't know what theme I want yet, but do you deliver? My birthday year ends in a 4.

You are really talented with those cakes and cookies. This one is so cute!

    Marian

Great cake and matching cookies! I can tell how much love and work went into those =) Love your blog name the blog itself too!

    Elyse

The cake looks great, Julie!! Talk about elaborate bdays for toddlers these days. By the way, what's up with that girl crying through your whole party? Who passes up cake just to keep crying? Crazy!

    Bob

That's awesome! I would have loved to get that cake as a kid. :)

    Julie Hession

That's funny--my husband said "You can't tell what these cookies are supposed to be", so I ended up adding numbers to the little black parts. They're fire hats. They were tough to make realistic--especially since I did those last!

    momofthree

I can tell the dalmation, fire engine and fire hydrants, but I can't tell what the other cookie is. I think they all look great, but I am having a really bad blonde moment and can't figure that one out. It is really bugging me for some reason.

    Julie

Jules, some days it must HURT to be that talented and "together." You're amazing. I don't know any other way to put it. GORGEOUS work. What a lucky little guy. So can we open "Ace of Cakes II" together, and get a FN show?

    megan

The cake is adorable and the cookies-delightful. I'm so impressed! I can imagine the time and work that went into this. Love the jolly rancher lights! :)
