Thanks so much, Grace! I completely agree. Streusel makes everything just a little bit better :)

if you ask me, the layer of streusel should always be at least as substantial as the other layers, if not more so. i approve of these bars. :)

    Hi Julie,
I'm always trying to figure out which subscriptions I could live without. I love a great magazine, but when they stack up and it becomes a chore to read them, it sure takes the fun out of it.

The bars look great! I love the combo of the pears and the cranberries.

Thanks, Jennifer! Its nice to know that I am not alone (I am a coffee addict as well.)

Hi Julie. I must come clean:I am a magazine addict. It is my vice (well and coffee). Ask my hubby. We moved with tons of heavy boxes 8 yrs agoa nd now we are preapring to moe again and I get tears in my eyes when going through the mags to see if I can sacrifice any. Naturally, there are plently of Gourmet ags in the piles.

I've got to find someone to eat these with me so I can make them!

Nice combination- pears and cranberries. We'll love the crunchy topping.

Know what you mean about magazines....I am slowing weeding out and not renewing a lot of them. I take one foodie, one home, M.S. Living, Gourmet (boo hoo); there's so much online now.

Ok...I had to laugh about the Seventeen Magazine...because I used to love to take the quizzes and I too wanted to order the 12 CASSETTE tapes for a penny, but my mom would not let me either!! Gosh, I had forgot all about those offers in magazines. Now my 13 year old likes 17 magazine and Tiger Beat too, but instead of pictures of Shawn Cassidy..she gets giddy over the Jonas Brothers!! P.S your recipe looks great too!!!

I'm addicted too... far too many subscriptions & piles all over the place. I used to try to keep up w/ clipping, but now I just stack them by the month!

This looks like a rather unique & yummy recipe to try!
