Thank you so much for letting me know about the cake, Anna!  Im so glad that you (and your boss!) enjoyed it.  I know -- its tempting to check for the doneness.  Enjoy the rest of your week :)

    Anna

Made this a few days ago, and it was super yummy! My boss (who had to check how many points it was first) raved about it! I have to say I fell into the trap of checking for doneness, but I will not make that mistake again next time, because this was so good, I will be making it again for sure! Thanks for the recipe!!

Hi Anna!  Thanks for your comment.  That does not seem like a dumb question at all.  In fact, it is a very common question with both inexperienced and experienced bakers!  No, you cannot use the fresh polenta -- the sausage-like polenta -- in this recipe.  Do you have cornmeal in your pantry?  You can use that instead.  It is essentially interchangeable with polenta.  Hope this helps!

    Anna

OK, this is going to sound like a dumb question, but I don't bake at all, although your blog has sparked my interest -- I don't have instant polenta, but I have the sausage-like package of polenta... That won't work in this recipe, will it?

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Union Street Eats!  Yes -- obvi is another great example!  Ive started to hear that quite often.

Thank you, Christina!  It was tough to hone in on just 20 --- I can be pretty random sometimes :)

Hahaha! I love your random facts! Too funny! This cake looks incredible! I love the lemon and blackberry combo,,,definitely have to try soon! :)

You are too, too kind.  Obviously, Sinbad is known as the gold standard for humor, so I am indeed honored.

Thank you, Living the Sweet Life!  Let me know if you ever give it a try -- I think that you will enjoy it :)

LOL your 20 random facts are so funny!! And I am so in love with this cake. Lemons & Blueberries ... ohh my, they leave me speechless and I've never had polenta cake before, but I can only imagine how amazing it is!!

    Jay

Awww. You could also mail me some beer and I will send you a story on a postcard. And Julie is the funniest person that I know, and I know Sinbad (not really, but she is funnier than Sinbad, if you can possibly imagine that).
